I'm buying a condo in sandy spring. I need to turn electricity on for home inspection. When I call georgia power, they told me that I need to ask the city of sandy spring to do a wiring inspection since the condo has been empty for more than 6 months. I called the city, they asks me to get a electrical permit first.
I have no clue how to complete this form: http://www.sandyspringsga.org/getmed...7;;.aspx;.html

It asks for all sorts of information that I do not have...

Has anyone done this before? I only got 2 weeks of due diligence. I'm so upset

Is the condo a foreclosure? Is it listed through a real estate agent? I've never purchased a property before where the electricity was shut off but I would think that it would be the sellers responsibility to get the electricity turned on so that you can have your home inspection completed. If it's listed through an agent I would ask them to get the electricity turned on for you. If they really want to sell the condo they will make sure you can have your inspection completed. Hopefully someone else who knows more about this type of situation will chime in. I think there are several real estate agents who frequent the forum.

Thanks! This is a HUD property. I'm responsible to turn on utilities for the inspection. I even need to pay them $100 utility activation fee...
