Hello, I was wondering what use to be at West Perimeter before the Super Target, shopping center was built there. It's embarrassing that I don't remember considering I worked across the street from that area for 2 years. I was also a regular at the Border's Bookstore in the Walmart shopping mall for years, especially around 2001 to 2002. But I'm wondering what use to be over there. My mother also doesn't remember. Does anyone have a pic of this place before that area was developed? My thoughts were that there was probably nothing there, but it's been eating me up. Also anyone I've asked doesn't remember either. Odd I know.

Yes, I believe it was the last undeveloped piece of land held by the Spruill family.

Check out Google Earth's timeline. It will allow you to view aerial photos from 1993.

There may have been a small area of woods left, but I believe it was a huge Bellsouth (or AT&T, I can't remember) corporate campus. I never realized how big it was until they started to tear it down and I got to see the whole space.

Actually this may be true. And it was a Bellsouth building. I think the building was abandoned around 2003 or 2004ish, and most Bellsouth employees were migrated to the Bellsouth office in Lindbergh. I'm getting a very fuzzy visual, but I think the building was whitish/brownish. And had dark tinted windows. It was about 3 or 4 stories and very wide. Would be nice to have photos, but I'm sure that would be impossible. Around 2001, I actually use to talk to a guy on AOL who use to work in that building. Odd, how I didn't remember that. I can only imagine the building has been gone for at least 8 or 9 years.
