The Olympics has reminded me that I need to start swimming more regularly. The only reason I don't is because it generally seems like such a pain to find a place to swim regularly, with reasonable hours, that is also somewhat affordable.

What are the best places to swim laps in the Buckhead / Emory / Brookhaven / Midtown area?

I realize I might just have to join a fitness center to find what I want, but any good suggestions are appreciated.

Emory has a great pool on the Clairmont campus; I know they offer summer memberships. There's also a good indoor pool at the Decatur-DeKalb YMCA on Clairmont.

LA Fitness at Altantic Station has full length pool and it's only $20/month. Might be a tad easier to not have to deal w/ GA trainings etc.

Thanks for the suggestion. Though, the website says it's $40 per month. Not sure if there's other membership options not listed on the website.

Thanks for the suggestion. It looks nice, but membership fees are fairly high at $53 per month. Might be a potential option.

It's $40/month w/o an initiation fee. Pay $100 or something upfront and it drops to $19.99/month. I like it because you can use it at any LA Fitness nationwide - so when traveling for work/vacation - can pop into any of them.

I love Emory pool!
But a cheaper option is the public pool in Piedmont park. It stays open longer than other public pools (through September) and is a beautiful pool in a lovely setting.

I second LA Fitness but wanted to put out there that you can always tell them you don't want to pay the initiation fee. I told them I wouldn't pay it but wanted to join and give them some sort of commission if they could work with me and they gave me $19.99 a month with no initiation fee. I am a great barterer though.
