The French quarter, Vegas and South Beach are real 24 hour cities

South Beach isn't even 24hrs, by 2-3am it's pretty dead. It's not even near as active as Las Vegas.

Technically Atlanta has more 24 hour restaurants/etc than Vegas, New Orleans and Miami if you add up all the Waffle Houses and 24 hour krogers in Metro Atlanta lol

Vegas ain't a real city. Its a tourist trap, the strip isn't a real neighborhood.

No one lives on the strip so its not a 24-hour neighborhood. Its just for tourist!

Actually there are some condo residences there at least. The only thing really missing in a large amount is office space but people work there too technically.

But even then, first and foremost, the foundation of cities are about different entities and people engaging in commerce and trade, the exchange of good, services and monies. While Las Vegas may be too focused on one or two industries, it meets the above.

To me the fact that you can't see a Broadway play or shop at Macy's at 4 am isn't really a negative. How much demand is there for that sort of thing, I wonder?
