The development along the BeltLine is slowly creeping south. Once works gets started on the SE portion, development should follow.

what i liked was the fact that they depicted people of all races and socioeconomic levels shopping in the mall. however, i think they are setting themselves up for disappointment. the guy who presented this to the alpharetta city council said that they were going to be asking $4000 a month rent for these apartments above the retail outlets. you can't even find apartments that expensive in midtown, and these are just wood and drywall.

honestly, i hope that it turns out like the video— that would be super freaking cool, and MARTA could even connect up to it (i heard they had talked to avalon about putting a station there). but considering what i've seen so far, i can't see it happening with the plan they've put forward, it's just too scattershot.

I agree. The tenant list looks great also.

Hardly.

A good percentage of this development is shopper-tainment - food, entertainment and specialty type stores and has no department stores. Its another alternative for N Fulton but most will not be able to replace North Point with what will be available at Avalon.

I'd find that surprising given how far apart they are and that there seems to be a shift away from malls to these walk-able districts.

Also, AS has been going gang busters the bast couple of years.
