According to the presser this expansion will make Atlanta Frontier's third largest operation. That's pretty impressive. They'll also eclipse Spirit to become Atlanta's third largest airline (behind Southwest and, of course, Delta).

Spirit and Frontier are simply doing what Southwest should have done. This is great news. I will definitely use that San Diego flight.

Unfortunately this is just during the peak holiday period. Better than nothing though—maybe some of them will stick.

I don't like Frontier. Aside from that, I don't think them being the third largest operator is good for the airport, overall.

In an ideal world, Jetblue would be the third or even second largest airline there.

Lol...Delta needs a boat service from Cancun to Cozumel.

Eh, their service is godawful, but the price is ridiculously low. It serves a segment of the flying public--a segment which Delta unequivocally turns its back on--to have that option. And, perhaps more importantly, it keeps Delta honest, which is something that is gravely necessary in the era of fortress hubs and anti-trust imune joint ventures.

As an illustration, if you want to fly from Atlanta to San Salvador from May 18 through 25, Delta is charging $533 round trip. Frontier is charging $204.

Pretty good, right? 60% off for a crappy experience. Let the consumer decide.

Well, what if you're Honduran instead of Salvadorian and want to fly to San Pedro Sula instead? Similar aircraft, similar schedule, and the two destinations are about 100 miles apart. But you'll pay $1,011 round trip instead on Delta.

Belize City? $1,051.

What's the difference between San Salvador/Guatemala City and San Pedro Sula/Belize City? Frontier flies to the first two, but not the second two.

Frontier adding this sort of route means a heck of a lot to the flying public even if you refuse to set foot on one of its planes.

I get what you're saying. But I think that market would be better served by Southwest or Jetblue. But, of course, they don't offer those particular services to those destinations yet, unfortunately.

You pay a different kind of price when flying on an airline like Frontier, no doubt. A price beyond the price lol.

Once Jetblue Merges with Spirit JetBlue probably will become at least the third largest.
