They already fly ATL-MBJ, I think every day. Probably plenty of coverage for Jamaica.

Bring on Colombia and Mexico service!

That really baffles me. Kingston is the capital and largest city. Beautiful scenery in that part of Jamaica. I know Kingston has crime issues, but you do have to keep perspective. To me, that is the best part of Jamaica for tourism, yet it hasn't really been tapped.

Wow, it looks like a response to its tuff against Spirit and Frontier's recent expansion and any further plans.

You hit the nail on its head. However legit it may be now, the crime issue is the problem. It was so bad in the past that it will take years for things to change

We were in Negril last month, and even the locals told us that crime, while better than in the past, is still pretty bad. I would like to visit Kingston; however, I was warned against it. Too bad.

Southwest restarting Saturday-only service to Cancun in November:

WN 1134 ATL-CUN 10:50AM - 1:30PM
WN 1135 CUN-ATL 2:25PM - 5:05PM

On the one hand it’s interesting since Southwest has zero international service from ATL currently. Southwest is also adding frequencies to a bunch of markets around the US from Atlanta too.

On the other hand, 1 weekly flight is pathetic and barely seems worth the effort. They’ll be a distant third on the Cancun route behind Frontier with 14 weekly flights and Delta with like 35.

Either way, we need to be more of an LCC hub. Delta’s fares have gone nuts.

Very shocking, is Southwest finally turning its attention back to Atlanta. You are right about Delta fares, I had to fly United's nonstop flight from Atlanta to SFO instead of Delta.
