On Roswell Road inside 285, there is an area next to Pike's Nursery that has an awful smell. At first, I thought it may have been compost or perhaps even fertilizer at Pike's, but I just don't think that's it.

I'm searching for condos or even apts, have a pet, and spend a fair amount of time jogging outside. The prices are better in that area for the location I'm considering, but I don't think I can deal with it smelling like a cesspit. Honestly, I'm not even sure who to ask in a gov't agency or even if they would give me an honest reply.

If you are at all familiar with the area and even just drove over that short bridge on Roswell with your car windows down, then you have to know the odor I'm talking about.

Please tell me if you know the source as I think it would put my mind more at ease if I did not think it was raw sewage.

I read the title of this thread and thought we were about to play a new game show. Darn.

Maybe they have a large number of ginkgo trees in the area. There's just one by our house and if the property owner isn't constantly cleaning up the fallen seeds this time of year the entire block can smell like vomit.

Could be the sewer system. I think the city shout it down the other day for repairs.

Across Roswell Rd from Pikes, there is a city park called Blue Heron Nature Preserve. Walk around over there and maybe ask the person in the office at the park (small modern building near park parking lot). It is a low-lying area and there is a creek there and some ponds, but I have been several times and haven't noticed a bad smell. It is a good area and would be a great place to rent. I wouldn't worry about the smell. At worst, it will be occasional or seasonal, as I have never noticed it. There are plenty of expensive homes in the area, and I haven't heard talk of a bad smell.

The smell most certainly is not an occasional thing. It has smelled like sewage every time I have driven by there for the last two years. I'm really surprised no one else knows what you're talking about. It's very noticeable
