What the heck is up with 12th and Midtown? When are they going to announce the next phase?

I understand that funding and identifying anchor tenants are the holdups.

That would be great. That area would hit critical mass if this project and that phase gets built.

Looking across Peachtree Street & just to the southeast of this proposed tower, another gamechanger for the immdediate area that would be an integral part of hitting that "critical mass" referred to above, would be the redevelopment of the Peachtree/Juniper block between 12th & 13th streets; the block that had the Texaco station that eventually was turned into a parking lot. If it were developed, the last big hole along Peacthree bewteen 10th & 14th would no longer be an empty hole.
Then of course, there is the frontage along 10th Street Northeast between Peachtree & Juniper that includes the empty" northeast quadrant of 10th & Peachtree.

If I were a betting man, I'd guess the next tower that should get approved for Peachtree will be the 1125 Peachtree building, probably around 30-35 stories.

i think we'll know that we've finally "gotten there" when you see a midtown tower announced that has a big department store on the bottom floor: macy's, dillard's, bloomingdales', etc.
