Oh we need beltline transit all right, in the form of 79mph commuter trains making at most one stop near the north end of the beltline enroute to Duluth, Suwanee, Gainesville, etc.

We may not NEED it but even you would have to admit it would be a cool thing, Mathman.

I don't see any street car expansion. No money for it.

Good point, but Mayor Reed seems to have a plan for it and has alluded to it many times that announcements would be forthcoming - probably a private public venture.

I think the biggest problem with the Peachtree application for federal funding was that there was little to no local money pledged. I think they learned from this in their new bid where they won the federal funding for the downtown route.

I don't think we NEED beltline transit. The beltline is being done to promote growth, not address any present transit need. And we have a subway going east and west of the city.
And I don't think 75/575 needs HOT lanes. but we all have our opinions. Streetcars on the BeltLine will move residents, visitors, and tourists around the city core, allowing them to connect to great neighborhoods like Virginia-Highland, Poncey-Highland, Ansley Park, etc. It will provide a last-mile connection for those neighborhoods and MARTA.
