They are made to be easy to ride, very easy to ride sitting up straight and not having to bend down for drop bars or other more road-bike-like handlebars.

Tricycles are not compatible with the locking system they have setup for Relay Bikes.

That's not the problem I'm dealing with, cq, but I may still give them a try. I was an avid cyclist for years and have ridden all over creation, including many parts of the ATL.

Atlanta rolls out aggressive expansion of bike share program

Quote:
The city is about to add 12 new stations, spreading its for-rent bicycle program north into Midtown at hubs including Piedmont Park and Georgia Tech.

It’s part of a larger expansion. Relay launched June 9 with 100 bikes at 10 stations in downtown. Now, city officials are working to take that number to 500 bikes at 60 to 70 stations by the end of the year.
Quote:
City officials are already are pleased with Relay’s ridership. From June 9 through Oct. 20, 1,400 people took 4,000 trips totaling 9,200 miles.

“I’ve been thrilled by the response,” Katz said, adding those numbers have exceeded ridership goals. “People are using them, and people are going far on them. It’s been really powerful and really positive.”
Quote:
Now, the expansion of Relay comes as residents in November will vote whether to approve a city-wide TSPLOST. Among several initiatives, the transportation plan would raise $3 million to further expand the Relay program. That would grow the program from 500 to 1,000 bikes, and would introduce the first electric bikes to the public, Katz said.
Here's a map showing current stations and the next 12 set to open up.

Nice! I am planning to sell my bike and just use the bike share when I move downtown. Glad the rollout is moving along and ridership numbers are good.

Good stuff. Wonder if this was from the TSPLOST money. Wasn't some reserved for the bike share?
