Hello, my family is looking to relocate from Reading, PA to GA ASAP! We moved to PA from South Florida almost a year ago. My parents are retired and are looking for a home with at least 5 acres- not in a subdivision. They would like to be within 20 minutes of shopping and medical facilities and a good school district. Currently they are looking into Cumming and Forsyth County, but are open to all other areas! They are also looking into south of ATL (Peachtree City), but would go East or West as well. They want to be in an area that they can purchase a house with land, but they do NOT want to be in the “backwoods”. We are planning a trip down at the end of the month and want to plan to meet with a realtor. If anyone has any good recommendations for someone that would be appreciated!
This is my first time posting- sorry if I left anything out…thanks in advance!

Realtor's are very Location specific, No one person can be a great in all 4 area North(Forsyth) South(PTC) ...

Northern Forsyth can fine 5+ in that price range. Forsyth has very good schools, Not far from shopping, and Medical care is near by also.

We just bought a house in Cumming- we used De Yonne Alexander - she was ABSOLUETLY amazing...we came from out of state- she was organized, on time, she had everything set up- she made our lives so easy- all we had to do was show up and look at the houses- she did everything!!
Send me a private message if you choose to go with her- I will set you up!!

There are about 20,000 agents in the Atlanta area -- I'm sure you won't have trouble finding a good one. :-)

I ran your criteria through our local search and found three house that met ALL your requirements, with only one that had a basement kitchen as part of an inlaw suite. I'm private messaging you with some comments.

Generally, you are NOT going to find 5+ acres at your price point in the close-in Atlanta area. They just don't exist. The three that I found for sale are outside of the 20-mile circumference of the Perimeter (I-285 that circles Atlanta.) Schooling is going to be an issue that far outside of the city -- it's pretty hit-and-miss, both with public schools and easy access to quality private schools.

If you are looking into West Cobb Smyrna or the heart of Marietta then I would suggest Jonathan Lee. He was great when I was buying my house.

I liked Harry Norman Realty, but I'm not all that comfortable with making a recommendation that it was the best choice I could have made.

We too are relocating from the Northeast (NJ) and recently spent some time looking at some homes and areas with Carole Templeman of Berkshire Hathaway. She went above and beyond what I expected of an RE agent since at the time we hadn't made our decision to relocate and just wanted to learn about the area.
