I keep seeing the older poster talk and romanticize about this Buckhead Village and how it was so fun and dense back in the day. Does anyone have pics from that time period. Street level pics or party pics. Just to give us younger folk an idea of how it was.

I'd have some pics somewhere deep on my old computer.

The first time I saw Buckhead Village, my thought was "this is like miniature Mardi Gras!"

It was. Imagine a very small area with a couple of intersections where there were over 30 bars and clubs (at one point I think it was almost 100). Most of the streets were closed to all but emergency vehicles and taxis, so you had streets full of people most of the time going from bar to bar, club to club. You had women in bikini tops outside many of the clubs trying to get people to come in as they walked by. People would literally meet each other in the street, it was like a miniature bar itself. You could have a great time without even going in anywhere, except they never allowed open containers (except during special events).

It even felt more like Mardi Gras because one of the clubs had a Mardi Gras theme, so people would stumble around wearing beads. Between 3 and 4am when places would start closing, you'd see everyone in the street desperate at their last chance to hookup before going home empty handed. You literally saw all kinds of people, from college kids, to young professionals, to tourists, and a lot of in betweens, and up until the very end, there weren't many problems. People were very nice and I met a lot of people just talking to random people. I'm not talking lasting friendships, but I got to meet a lot of interesting people for that night only.

Imagine a street filled with happy people at different levels of intoxication looking for the next party, and every bar and club with representatives outside trying to convince everybody that THEY were having the hottest party, and that's pretty much what it was like. In a teeny tiny area, you could find absolutely everything from laid back pubs, to drunken frat boy Top 40 clubs, to rave clubs, to singer songwriters. Women were known on many occasions to temporarily "misplace" their tops at a few of the establishments, I have pictures of that, too! Not strippers, just drunk girls showing off. It got pretty raunchy sometimes.

I don't know where, but I'm sure that some city in America somewhere has the scene today that Buckhead used to have. The closest thing I ever saw to it was Mardi Gras in New Orleans and Church Street Station in Orlando.

It was a lot of fun. Too bad the train jumped the track.

Yeah. The train jumped the track because Godzilla squashed it with his foot.

And drinks didn't cost an arm and a leg. .25 cent beers, women drink free, free parties, etc on certain nights. Even on Friday and Saturdays you could find $2 beer

I miss the old Buckhead in its party heyday.

I don't like the new boring Buckhead, but I'm sure the residents do.

I think everyone from that era destroyed all the evidence by now.

Have you tried doing an image search on one or more of the popular search engines?

Not exactly what you are looking for, you might find a few very old Buckhead Village pictures here: Atlanta Time Machine. I never took any myself unfortunately when I went there many, many years ago.
