"Traffic... Ubiquitous in metro Atlanta as references to Peachtree Street. But before you complain about how horrible your commute is, consider yourself lucky if you aren’t a Gwinnett County resident..."

I think I must have been traumatized in Kennesaw.

Maybe I have PTSD, but to look at that pic from that link, nothing is even really going on. I see the cofuffle up the highway, but at least every possible inch of space isn't piled up bumper to bumper.

Now, what I will concede is that the land of the Gwinnetians has more traffic than Cobb, but no where in metro ATL can put on a traffic jam like Cobb.

That's because most of the traffic is still stuck on 285 trying to merge on 400 NB .

The "ville's" are certainly well represented here. Never realized how prevalent of a name that was. Hapeville, Mechanicsville, Gainsville, etc . . .

It surprises me that the worst average commute is 36 minutes. How is that possible, when I'm hearing it takes people upwards of an hour to get to Suwanee from the Perimeter? Some guy my husband works with moved 27 miles from Perimeter Mall area (where he works) and he told my husband it takes him an hour and a half to commute.

How is Sugar Hill an easier commute than Suwanee?

Also, where is Alpharetta? It sounds like 400 is always a mess...

Is it because many people who live in Alpharetta also work there, I wonder?

So basically where I live haha.
It's not surprising. We're so far off of any highways. Side roads take a lot of time. Fortunately I live west of Scenic Highway so I don't have to cross that which means sitting at red lights. Ronald Reagan Pkwy helps but the speed limit is only 50 (although avg speed is usually at least 60). And it doesn't connect directly to 85. You can battle through lights on Pleasant hill or take your chances with a few more turns and take Steve Reynolds or Beaver Ruin like I do. Takes me almost 20 minutes just to get to 85 (I really hate stop lights). Problem is it isn't really close to major job centers.

This is sort of trivial. They are using city level data and many live in unincorporated spaces. Gwinnett is on the list a large amount, but it also has many tiny cities compared to its counterpart in Cobb.
