How do you think this winter will be?

Will another 2 inch snowstorm shut the city down again?

According to NOAA it'll probably be cooler. Might be wetter depending on El Nino. What I don't like is how quickly it's gotten cold here. It's just November and we're gonna have a high of 36/37 next Tuesday. We have a long way to go til 80s again. I missed the snow debacle here. Wouldn't mind one good snowfall on a weekend though.

No. It needs to snow late Sunday night so I can be off from work on Monday

i dont think it will shut down the city (hopefully our government has learned!) the way it did last year... but i am pretty sure the school board will be overly cautious and cancel school on some days when snow does fall.

i don't know, but i'm hoping it will snow. i know that the process of global warming can mean that certain areas actually get cooler due to changing weather patterns, and it seems to have been the case over the last few years here.

for example, i've recently been comparing NYC's weekly weather forecasts to atlanta's, and they're almost identical:

ATLANTA AND NYC ARE ALSO almost in the same plant hardiness zone asof the 2012 update to the plant growing zones, Atlanta is in zone 8a, and New York City is ckassed as a zone 7b according their map.

True. As long as it starts when people aren't all on the roads like last winter.

The comparison of Atlanta and New York weather makes sense. I have always compared Atlanta and DC as they are even MORE similar than the first two.

The Atlantic influences weather a bit more in those cities and the elevation and inland location influence our weather more.

the whole east coast corridor from new york, philly, washington, charlotte, and atlanta all have remarkably similar weather patterns.
