LOL!!! The "Glen Burns" comment just made my day! That man reallly does get way to dramatic when talking about cold weather. It's funny when he says that "the bottom will drop out tomorrow" when the overnight temps hit 30.

Hey we are from MN so this "winter" that everyone is complaining about just makes me laugh on the inside. This is shorts weather in Minneapolis lol

Neil0311,
I too made fun of everyone in Georgia when it got below 40, but mark my words; your blood is going to thin out and your teeth will chatter at anything below 40. Give it a few years. I won't even go home to Ohio in the winter anymore. I'll freeze my face off.

Well it's their own fault they obviously didn't research it well lol

That's a good example though, of what people get when they don't thoroughly investigate the place they want to move to. I mean, how could you NOT know that there are actual Winters in the N.Ga. mountains with even a basic amount of studying up on the area? Amazing that people who are retiring would do such a move that involves the rest of their lives, without any planning beforehand.

Even in N.GA though, they only get a few days here and there of "bitter" cold. It's still not like NE Winters.

Someone I work with calls him the "Weather drama queen" (even though to my knowledge he's actually married). LOL

Yeah we really only had 1 day of really cold temperatures (1/2/08) when it barely got above 30 degrees. The day before and the day after it was 40's and 50's (more like a normal GA winter). I still went out and had fun on that cold day. I'm sure people in the Midwest and Northeast wouldn't have minded that day here in Atlanta while they were barried in all the snow up there.

I wear shorts all year round down here. It *did* get nippy over the past two nights, though...

When the roads get covered with ice, I kid you not, you WILL see people (and a lot of them) try to drive 72mph on them, 2 feet behind the car in front, with no headlights on. Yes. Really..
No joke! When I first moved here from NY the was an ice storm and I was driving to a job at 6am along Holcomb Bridge Rd. The dunderheads that thought they know how to drive on ice turned the road into something that resembled a Bumper-car ring at an amusement park. There were cars scattered all over the road, too many to safely navigate. So, What do the other east-bound drivers do??? They cross over and drive on the west bound side. Gee... what a surprise for the westbound drivers! Who needs coffee when you can get a shot of adrenalin?

I saw these pictures on 11 Alive's website. The funny thing is that they are serious about this "gallery" of pictures of cars with 1/8 of an inch of snow on them.
