In a couple weeks I'll be headed north from Florida to Michigan. What's the best day to go through Atlanta? Is the weekends better? I can leave to time it at any day and time. Is there any major construction going on now? I know it's best to hit Atlanta between 10-2 on weekdays, I'm curious if the weekend is even better? Even more specific is Jan 3/4 or even the next weekend is fine. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Sunday morning is best. Weekends overall are better in the city but next weekend might be busy after Christmas and New Years. People have to travel home. As for construction, I think most would be on 285. I know they've been doing work on the westside NB of 285. I would just drive straight through town on 75. I don't think there will be any work done.

I would try and factor in weather too. Try and avoid driving through here during rain or even wet road conditions, any day or time of the week

Hundreds of thousands of Atlantans with ties to Florida returning home from the Holidays.

Traffic should really thin out north of here.

Schools start back after winter break on Jan 5 or 6. Traffic will be heavy south of Atlanta next weekend. Come through early in the morning on the 3rd or 4th or if you can wait come thru on the 5th or 6th after 10 AM and before 3PM.

If you're going to be traveling northbound on the I-75 through Atlanta on the first Saturday after New Year's, traffic is likely going to be very heavy, but at least traffic should be moving for the most part.

Do you think going through at night would be better?
