Hi,
Family is re-locating to Georgia and we are moving into Marietta, Cobb County. Kids will be going to Still Elementary. I will be working at Ashford Dunwoody near perimeter mall. Any suggestions on using mass transit either Cobb County Transit or MARTA to get to Perimeter?

Also anyone have any comments on the schools there in Cobb? From what I have researched they are good.

Thanks
Mike

Public transit from Marietta to the perimeter is nearly non-existent. I say "nearly" because there are a couple of options, but they are not very practical:

(1) Using an Xpress bus (or CCT Express) from Marietta/Kennesaw to downtown/Arts Center, then taking MARTA up to Perimeter.

(2) Parts of Marietta in East Cobb are on a CCT local route that goes to the Dunwoody MARTA station. But if you are not on that route, it won't be very useful.

Bottom line - be prepared to drive and be in LOTS of traffic. You are traveling one of the worst commutes in metro Atlanta (75 to 285 and back). See if you can work off-peak hours to save HOURS in your commute.

Thanks yes I am aware of the horrid traffic there. I will have the opportunity to work from home a few days if need be so the commute will not be every day. Thanks for the insight to a few options. Still look forward to enjoying the area and hopefully I can retire early to totoally stop the commute... LOL
