A German aerospace supplier is scouting sites in Georgia for a more than $500 million advanced manufacturing development that would employ about 700.
Weber Metals, a subsidiary of Meinerzhagen, Germany-based conglomerate Otto Fuchs KG, produces forged aluminum and titanium alloy parts mainly used in the aerospace industry. Weber manufactures products for components in the body, wings, chassis, and driving gear in suburban Los Angeles. Weber serves major aircraft manufacturers including Gulfstream Aerospace, Boeing and Airbus.
Weber is considering Southeast states including the Carolinas, Alabama and Tennessee, as it looks to expand U.S. production capacity to meet growing demand for aircraft

Nice.

I bet the metal fabrication business provides better jobs than the call and data centers that come here.

I worked at a Japanese auto parts plant a sort while in college. Aircraft parts suppliers are similar from what I understand. Even the lowest entry level jobs paid pretty good and there were some engineering and engineering Co Op jobs there as well.

I wouldn't be surprised if this goes to Savannah or the Carolinas though.

There are quite a few aircraft parts supply plants in Cobb and Bartow counties already.
