Got to love the right-wing scorched earth strategy. If they can't have their discrimination, then burn it all to the ground. Looks like Rep Ehrhart is right at home in Cobb County.

There is just no point in being rude to anybody.

Delta has been a vital corporate citizen for 75 years. To a large extent they put on the map. Tens of thousands of Delta employees, including Richard Anderson, have given much to the Atlanta area.

Horrible article the board of directors and stockholders dictates what Delta does and not Anderson.

That's not quite how it works. It's like saying the American people control what the President does. Not really, they just elect him to make decisions supposedly on their behalf.

Delta is a crappy company who craps on their customers every chance they get.

Really, you want to charge me for that bag so that every nut job takes on a carry on and fills every last bin.

Really, I have been loyal for 20 yrs and you want to diminish the loyalty program at every turn, and don't re-adjust when the economy recovers? They see every downturn as a opportunity to tighten the ratchet and never let it go.

Its more so the industry as a whole, but I've taken my domestic business to Southwest...including my credit cards. I hit Companion Pass status last year which is the coolest thing ever (Delta would gasp at the thought of ever doing that). My wife or one of my kids fly for free each and every time I fly...no matter if that is 3x a week or a year.

Flying Delta is more of a snob thing to do in my opinion. "If I fly them there is a 1 in one billion chance my Gold status gets me upgraded for my 90 minute flight". I'm over caring about that. They do have more direct flights and overseas, but that is the only time I will resort myself to using them.

I've flown extensively and see no real reason to fly them vs the competitors ...especially since their loyalty program has gone the way of the toilet.

A random guy on the Internet writes an opinion piece and we are supposed to be worried? If delta even hinted at leaving, good old boy Nathan deal would be zooming down 85 to the airport.

ATL Golfer - Then tell SouthWest to stop cutting flights in Atlanta (Also they need to step up their operations, their performance like on-time and cancellations has been falling).

Maria Saporta is hardly a "random guy on the internet".

Is she supposed to be important ? That article was pretty horribly written too. No offense.

What do some of you find to be the shortcomings of the reward program? Just interested in your opinions.

I think some are probably not happy about the recent switch to "dollar-based" rewards vs "mile-based" rewards. I can see why some wouldn't like it but I do more business trips, so it has personally benefited me. But it all depends on what your situation is and so I can understand those that are upset about getting less miles than they used to for the travel they do.
