Hey everyone!

Moving form bham to atlanta today. About to get on the road.

I just need to pay a couple of strong (and marginally considerate if I'm lucky) people to help unload sofa, loveseat, and two queen mattresses. I'll be in buckhead. It is a second story apt. Sometime between noon and 2.

I've been on yelp and just researching in general. Atlanta Express Movers seems like the only option to just help unload a truck on a Sunday afternoon. They had some pretty sketchy reviews. I'm a little hesitant to bring them into my home with the accusations of theft and such.

Thanks!

MovingHelp.com, which is run by U-Haul, can be used to get a list of local companies that can provide exactly this kind of help. You could even call one of the companies directly to see if they will give you a better rate than the one the website offers.

I've used this service before at one end of a state-to-state move, and at both ends of a local move.

Go pick up some "workers" outside of home depot. Not sure the going rate though. But i guess make sure you valuables are well hidden.

Checking back in... The move went pretty well. My stepdad and I got one piece of furniture up stairs and were already at each others throats. My mom got on craigslist and found some guys. They called themselves Cali Ridge movers. $50/hr, two hr min. Pretty nice rates for short notice. Now, you get what you pay for. They weren't reckless and nothing is broken, but they definitely weren't very cautious and considerate either. Overall, nice guys and I felt they were trustworthy. Just leaving my review here, doubt anyone will ever see it. Haha.

It's actually cool of you to let us know how it worked out (a lot of threads are just left hanging).

Welcome to Atlanta.

We bought loads of furniture from Tuccis. They use a small moving truck and 2 guys.
I don't remember their names....but I have seen their card at several antique and consignment shops here in Roswell.

Very nice respectful guys. Next time call up Tuccis and ask who their moving guys are.
Welcome
