I live up north but I will be coming to Atlanta in a few months for only 1 or 2 days. I have never been there or even anywhere remotely close to Atlanta. We will be staying in South Carolina for one week but plan to either book a hotel a night or two in Atlanta or else make the drive (2 hours, 30 minutes) into town one day. I am very interested in going to the Atlanta Aquarium, the Coca Cola Museum place and I really want to see some Walking Dead sites as I've been a huge fan since the pilot episode. So I was thinking of going on one of the Walking Dead Tours...looks like they have a few. Can anyone recommend a particular tour or would it be better to just drive around ourselves and look for sites of interest?

What would you all recommend? Stay in the city or drive in? Will I have time to do the three things I mentioned or not?

Thanks in advance!

A lot of TWD filming locations are actually about an hour south of Atlanta so you may want to get yourself a Hotel in Atlanta so that you can spend time to actually see them.

I saw Darryl Dixon standing outside El Myr in Little Five Points a couple weekends ago, and I saw Rick Grimes go into Fritti in Inman Park picking up some pizza not too long ago.

If you're into TWD, hang around Inman Park/L5P area for a few hours.

I think you're right. The driving will take up too much time to enjoy and really see the area.

Senoia is the epicenter of TWD. The downtown serves as set for the former Woodbury location. They are actively filming right now in an adjacent neighborhood that is the current set for the little community they just ended the season at. There is a wall up around the neighborhood that is staying up for years, the same wall that protects against zombies and the Wolves crew, soon enough.

There are a couple of decent places to eat and stores that cater to TWD fans. Senoia is an absolute must if you want to see TWD sites.

An awesome place to say in Senoia is The Viranda Bed and Breakfast . It is a beautiful old home just a stones throw from the downtown area .It is a wonderful old town just to walk around in.
