Hi everyone! I remember hearing about a great hole in the wall restaurant located I think maybe around midtownish or the Ikea area. A girl was telling me about it several years ago. The thing about this place is that it was only open like maybe five hours a day, three or four days a week.

Apparently it's very small with people that line up ahead of time, and there is a grandma who is the owner who cooks the best food ever, mostly breakfast type food.

Does anyone know the name of this place? Me and my hubby want to check it out.

Thanks

My guess would be the Silver Skillet...it's my go to breakfast place
in the area of town you describe (Midtown.) It's open Monday -
Sunday...but closes at 2:30 pm on weekdays...2:00 pm weekends.

I hope this (maybe) helped!

Paul

The Silver Skillet is wonderful. They have amazing country ham and know how to make real red-eye gravy there, which won me over on my first visit.

I checked out the website for Silver Skillet, and maybe it's not the same thing. The place I was looking for serves breakfast, but also soul food.

Move to the bottom to see the Lunch menu. They also have daily specials, and I've had some great catfish there.

YES!!!!!! That was it. Thanks.

From a review website:
"I've wanted to try Carver's for a while, but the restaurant's limited hours (11-3, weekdays only) make it a challenge for me given where I work. "

Yeah, that was the sticky point for us in the past, the odd hours.

I'm sorry it wasn't the right place oldhousegirl, but do yourself a favor and check out the Silver Skillet anyway. They've been around for almost 60 years now, and I'm betting you'll be glad you did.
