Folks Zika is leaving the IOC in a hard place of possibly canceling the games. Are their any chances that Atlanta could host certain events and be an emergency host city. The ioc should have pick Chicago.

On 5 months notice? Nope (at least not for all of the events).

I agree not for all events, but some would be better than none.

Atlanta had it. Time to move on. No need to go through all the drama to do that, not to mention
the large amount of money needed etc.

If they did not cancel them outright , (But I don't think it would ever happen),

Rio de Janeiro / Brazil will do whatever they have to to make it happen, even if they have to send thousands of troops out to Smoke, Oil, everything within 100 miles of any Olympic Venue.

London England who had them last would probably still have alot of the infrastructure still available, and not in disrepair, that could with an around the clock effort be pressed back into service.

Something on the order of total collapse, war, and anarchy would have to happen in Brazil to necessitate the cancellation of the games.

They're not going to cancel the Rio Games. Of course, there will be speculation and fretting and such, but they'll end up being held in Rio.
