I think all of the above are good advice, especially with regard to living within reason of your job. I am partial to East Cobb. It is convenient to Atlanta, Alpharetta, Sandy Springs, and Cobb County's major employment centers. In addition, the schools are the BEST and there is a wide variety of housing available. I moved here from Birmingham, AL in 1995 and have found Cobb County a very responsible government with low taxes, excellent amenities, and accessible leaders.
