Forsyth county is still full of good ol' boys that take bribes from builders / developers. It is sad because the schools are really good and top ranked in the US. The newer homes are poorly built since inspections never actually take place, the paper is just checked off. The county allows its land to be abused and there is no idea of protection for land or water. It feels like the wild west and builders / developers do what ever they want with no regard for ordinances....and why should they, no one is watching or giving fines when they do things out of compliance. The rednecks that are still employed by the county will eventually retire and maybe we can get honest people with degrees that know what they are doing. Until then, it will remain backwoods.
