Just trying to help get the word out...

There is a night market all this weekend (Fri, Sat, 5p-midnight, Sun 5p-9p).

Should have all types of international cuisine. It's the first year, so who knows if it's going to be great fun or a great flop...but if you like to try all the Asian places on Buford Highway, here's a chance to get a bunch of that sort of thing in one place, supposedly.

Check it out.

Wow, thanks for posting about this. The night market was mentioned to me a while back but I never heard any follow up on it.

According to this, 80 food vendors have signed on. So this should challenge even the most sophisticated palettes that crave something unique.

FYI, it's HUGE!!!

Extremely successful. But I'd recommend waiting until next time....looks like a few wrinkles to iron out, most of the vendors are behind in cooking food, taking money, etc. Definitely long lines and lots of "figuring stuff out."

This is massive and I'm sure they'll do it again soon. I got my mie goring!

From what I heard from friends about how big the crowd was, this comment gets a "heh".

I didn't personally attend as I had no interest in big crowds this weekend and didn't feel like trekking all the way up to Duluth to stand in line for a fish ball skewer.

The concept though is amazing and I think it will catch on like wild fire. Hoping one similar will come to Chamblee or Doraville soon. There are plenty of places that would make for a nice setup.

It is a great idea that has been done in other cities for years. I just wish the location were better than a nearly dead mall parking lot. Maybe if they ever get the Doravile Assembly development going it could be held in that area.

The location makes perfect sense when you consider how ethnically diverse the area is. Also the person who organized it is the owner of Saigon Cafe, which has deep roots in the Gwinnett Place area.

I wouldn't get hung up on location. In Asia, especially in cities where there has been a lot of new development, these type of things happen in parking lots too. Since space is such a premium they often just end up happening on the sidewalk, middle of the street, or in an alleyway.

Where they had it in Duluth actually made a lot of sense. Let's not kid ourselves about how people would get to something in Gwinnett. It would be entirely by car and that location would have the most ample parking without disturbing other businesses.
