Never, bc some of us actually pay attention to driving.
But y'all keep rationalizing your behavior, and I'll keep stitching together your victims...the ones who live, anyway.

People that do this should lose their license. Just for a week.

This action, along with people stopping at the most inward line of pedestrian markings at intersections (not the stop line), is probably more the product of ignorance than thoughtlessness. I would love to see GDOT and/or some rich individual fund a series of commercials and billboards explaining where you stop at an intersection and why matching speeds is wrong. Driver education is so light here in GA, some additional PSAs would do a world of good.

1. It is not my job as a law-abiding driver to yield to drivers who feel that they have the constitutional right to drive as fast and recklessly as they want.

2. I assume that entitled drivers have short tempers, and thus I recognize that there is no glory in being dead right. In practice this means I try to spend as little time in the left lane as possible even when it would be perfectly sensible for me to go over there.

Traffic does suck here and I have had some close calls with speed demons (and not in the left lane) but I think distracted driving and people driving too slow (in comparison to those around them) are bigger hazards. I pretty much ignore speed limit signs on freeways here close to atlanta if there's traffic because you will die if you go 55, I don't care what lane you are in.

Just this morning I was passed by at least 6-7 cars doing 90+ on GA 400 NB towards Alpharetta. It is an absolute rate race in the morning especially right around 6-7am. In the 3 years I have been doing this commute I could probably count maybe two dozen times where I have seen police out and they are usually Alpharetta and Roswell police.

Cars are too safe these days. The reckless drivers used to kill themselves off.

How not surprising that you would take this stance.

I'll assume you're one of 'them,' driving 95 while whipping from lane to lane nearly clipping people. You probably consider it a God-given 'Right.' I also imagine you cursing the Streetcar the entire time, with Def Leppard blasting.

This. Up north, you are required to abide by the law or else receive a ticket. Atlanta could solve all of its Marta concerns if it simply starting enforces the speed limits with tickets. They would make money hand over first. It is amazinf to me the city has never thought of simply ticketing speeders to raise money.
