Georgia senator: Atlanta suburbs need to get on board with mass transit | Spinning our Wheels
Well, he's right....I see the biggest stumbling block to Atlanta getting the Amazon deal as MARTA not serving the city well enough.
I like how he calls out NCR leaving Gwinnett county (which nobody seems to realize is as big a deal as it is).
My biggest issue with what he says, as I have said before, is that I believe the political will is already there. All that's needed is a decent "vote yes on MARTA" campaign to educate people and for it to actually appear on a ballot.

If mass transit is so all fired important to these big outfits you'd think they would be going nuts over locations like Chamblee, Vine City, Oakland, etc.

Corporations are not going to locate offices in primarily residential areas.

Look at Perimeter, Medical Center, Alpharetta, etc. Lenox, Buckhead and Midtown, too, for that matter.
The areas around the stations I mentioned are evolving quickly.

Alpharetta doesn't have a rail station. Who's to say they
aren't looking at those other spots, though? Many here have suggested locating in similar, if not same, places.
The article, though, speaks to the competativeness of currently undeserved areas in the metro.

Maybe if Cobb County came to the table with something, it would make more sense for MARTA to better serve a low-density area like the NW area of the city, since it would be on the way to more productive areas in Cobb.
