This is absolutely insane. Some of the highest paid CEOs are media titans. Meanwhile many of their consumers are living paycheck to paycheck.

Frankly, I've had it with paying for all of those channels (most of which go unviewed anyway) and am cutting the cord in July. We're keeping the internet, but will get the local channels over a digital antenna on the roof and going with Google Voice for my land line (small business and need it). Looks like Playstation Vue and Sling TV will provide most of the channels that we had. Just need to be sure that I can get SEC sports and Falcons Football. Wifey wants the weather channel and Hallmark something or another.

Firing Charter Spectrum. Who else has done this? What do I need to think about?

Been free for almost a decade. Best choice I've ever made. I did the math, to have good cable for your working life cost you over $50k. I don't think I've saved a dime cutting the cord, but I have put that money into better hobbiess - a decent woodworking shop, veggie garden, landscaping.

Missing some sports sucks, but I'm not a huge fan so it wasn't that bad.

Do realize you will spend some money on other tv entertainment. Netflix, hulu, rented movies.

Cut the cord a few months ago, have amazon fire stick and Netflix. Outdoor antenna picks up most of the local channels. No regrets so far.

Will help you figure out how "Big" of an antenna you will need, and where to aim it.

I went Cable "Free" about 8 years ago. just doing OverThe Air TV, and Streaming from internet.

Have had Netflix, But now just have Hulu and Amazon + dozens of streaming (free, with commercials ) channels on my Roku.

I've never had cable as an adult. Between Hulu, Netflix, and playstation vue I've never seen the need to pay for cable.

I get excellent antenna reception, and for a while was using only over the air TV and a Roku.

However, I added back basic cable TV because I missed some of the news channels and it was pretty cheap.

I purchased this one from Amazon and I have to say it's great! I pull about 60 channels and it even has a rotate feature built in.
