Not disputing your assertion, but has this been an issue more recently than 2007 and 2015?

Yes. It only came to my attention in the last few years via Reddit, so it's definitely more recent than the links I provided would suggest.

But even if they have a brand new policy allowing all photography, the whole point is this is NOT a public park. Photography was just one example, and not the be all/end all of how it differs from a true public space.

I mean...if a place is that picky, I don't know if I'd want to frequent there. When I go to a "public space," I expect to be able to do whatever I want so long as it's not bothering anyone else and somewhere like Piedmont Park allows this.

More potential infill for Atlantic Station.

Quote:
Renderings this week surfaced for a planned dual-branded hotel in Atlantic Station.
Springhill Suites and Tapestry Collection by Hilton will most likely be the project’s two hotels, according to marketing materials from Hines, Atlantic Station’s owner, that were obtained Friday by What Now Atlanta (WNA).

An affiliate of Peachtree Hotel Group acquired the land where the hotels will be situated, at 301 17th Street NW, in 2018 for nearly $4 MM, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle (paywall).

The site sits between the Twelve Hotel and the BB&T tower in the mixed-use development.

Doesn't look right between those 2 tall towers. That spot was always kinda supposed to be a skyscraper.

Proposed pedestrian bridge to link Bishop St to Atlantic Station, as part of new mixed use development.
Quote:
At 400 Bishop Street, in Atlantic Station’s backyard, a 130,000-square-foot mixed-use development is expected to rise later this year, according to project backers.

A new rendering released by Colliers International on LoopNet shows a long, slender six-floor complex complete with ground-level retail and a green-covered rooftop.

The Development Authority of Fulton County is scheduled to discuss the $50 million project at a meeting later today.

The development promises to create 600 full-time jobs and feature 120,000 square feet of office space above 10,000 square feet of retail.

The Bishop Street commercial complex is slated to link to Atlantic Station by way of a pedestrian bridge, according to the DAFC meeting agenda.

What is the red, rustic looking object in the middle of the intersection?

There's another one over on 17th and Village St. at the entrance to Atlantic Station.

I was thinking they have something to do with the old steel mill
