Until last year, GA Tech compiled data by high school (if 10 or more students enrolled). They call it a snapshot and it really is just that.

That's probably the weighted score. AP classes get a higher scoring than normal classes, which allows for GPAs over 4.0. Grady has (had when I was there at least) a strong AP presence, in addition to a good relationship with colleges for early classes and transferred credits.

Nice. I love how the private schools are on there too and I can compare with public schools. Definitely valuable for people trying to weigh which school to send their kids to.

I would imagine that more private high school kids go out of state to college than do public high school kids.

Most likely, but the first year gpa at GT and the rigor is still a nice way to compare schools with each other.

That's what it looks like.
If a kid gets into Tech with only 6 AP/IB classes does that mean the school is more respected?

Overall Woodwoord has one of the lowest scores for rigor and gpa—but their test scores are high, and when at GT they seem to do above average.
There are some interesting stats if you dig around—for example, Parkview HS really looks more impressive in most categories than rival (and somewhat more highly regarded) Brookwood—including grades freshman year. Sort of wonder if some of the Parkview kids that did not get offered into GT would have gotten in if they had transferred to neighboring Tucker senior year (which had much lower scores in all categories—but also had a much lower acceptance rate).
Edit—looks like Parkview had a jump in it’s great Schools rating this year, while Brookwood dipped a little—both scored a 9.
