People that say that are usually seeing buses in off peak hours or in neighborhoods where bus ridership is naturally low. Having grown up on the southside and now living in NE Atlanta, the attempted insult about how many people are on the bus has always been odd to me. One it's not true and two try living in one of those neighborhoods when you depend on public transit. We all don't live within short walking distance of the train.

People claim Atlantans won't ride buses but in fact they ride them in droves.

The Buckhead segment would've been fine (good opportunity to tie into the Lenox, Buckhead, and Arts Center stations).

Yes.

Agreed. The Peachtree Streetcar should’ve been planned from just Arts Center to Brookhaven.

Would’ve brought great transit and connectivity to Peachtree Road South/South Buckhead and Buckhead Village.

Do they? According to MARTA's own info, there are fewer than 140,000 total bus boardings daily. Not people, not trips...boardings. That means probably fewer than 50,000 riders.

Most other places. I know the busses up in my neck of the woods are barely occupied.

I think specifically White Atlantans won't ride buses. But that goes for the south in general. I'm seeing greater diversity on the bus lines running from North Avenue to PCM though.

Yep.

White people love themselves some buses in the Boston Area...

I think white folks in the ATL can learn to love the bus again. They sure did in the old days!
