My wife and I moved here a little over two years ago from a Minneapolis suburb, and we love it here so far. We've met a lot of nice people, our neighbors are pretty cool, and the area surrounding our home (Mableton/Vinings/Smyrna/Marietta) has been a lot fo fun to explore and get to know. She's from northern MN and doesn't like the summers here, but as far as I'm concerned the mild winter here makes up for that. :-)

I love it!
Whatever you do, don't go the main Cobb County tag office on a Saturday morning. Lines, lines, everywhere lines... :-)

Guess I've not seen that, but our oldish neighborhood in Mableton has a pretty good mix of people. Black, while, hispanic, Indian, whatever. :-)

I don't see many of the blue collar or more down-to-earth whites in the city like I would in the city of Boston or Philadelphia or any northeastern or midwestern town. The only rough-looking people in the city are the blacks.

Why do I bring this up? It is different from what I am used to seeing.
I don't think you can peg that onto "white people"...that's just some folks in that area period. I've seen black folks, latino folks, you name it act the same way.

I read something in December's Atlanta magazine about that...a reader wrote in complaining about the declining lack of Southern hospitality or something like that.
