Hello-sorry if this has been asked before-have a visit coming up soon, and may need to park up in Midtown for a couple hour span, potentially going to the High Museum of Art-however, if possible, want to avoid paying the $18 flat rate they charge on weekends. From checking SpotAngels, it appears there is another garage kinda across the street that would be around $8 for that time frame, 1337 Peachtree. It also appears there is some metered $2 an hour parking along Peachtree there and some of the adjacent streets, and what is apparently free parking along Ansley Park and over adjacent to Piedmont Park, though I'd have to imagine with museum goers and people looking to go to the Piedmont Park Saturday Market, it probably fills up fast-any suggestions? We've not had too much difficulty finding reasonably priced parking even on visits to Miami/Miami Beach over the last couple years, so I'd have to assume it's largely the same case in Atlanta too, but I figured I'd check to see if there's any locals insight I should be aware of here. Thanks in advance!

Another suggestion is maybe to take Marta. Once in a while, I will park at Lindbergh Center or Lenox station Marta and take the train to midtown (free parking with validation).

Midtown notoriously has too much parking. You won't have any issues finding a spot, there are decks literally everywhere.

Sunday they stop monitoring street parking and you'll likely be able to find parking on Arts Center Way. Saturday there should also be parking available, but you'll have to pay.

In Ansley Park, there are neighborhood permits in effect most of the time, but if you drive far enough or onto a weird side street like Yonah Drive you can get free parking.

Thanks all! We ended up just hanging out downtown-my wife was more hesitant to take MARTA with our young, less than 2 y/o daughter, but taking MARTA was specifically on my list as an urbanist/public transit enthusiast. I took it from Peachtree Center to Midtown, and while we didn't go to the art museum, I did walk through Midtown, which was a good time, and through much of Piedmont Park which I hadn't previously seen (very nice!) before ending up and meeting them at Mellow Mushroom. Thanks again for suggestions! On way back through downtown, we went to Zoo Atlanta and Original Dwarf House Chick Fil A.
