It might help with these bus lanes if they added some additional short term parking or an idling zone in front of stores and restaurants.

If they put these cameras in with things as they are, there could be a lot of people getting scooped up who are just running short-term errands.
First, you shouldn't be idling for 10 minutes. You do need to go park, rather than block a lane of roadway that is a no parking zone. The bus lanes are No Parking zones. Don't park there.

Got rid of red light cameras? Why? Because you shouldn't get a ticket for running a red light?

Hilarious that people call crashes "accidents" when they do stuff on purpose.

LOL! No, I don't do it myself, but apparently it's the preferred method for a good many folks.

Another thing to think about is Amazon, DoorDash, FedEx and so forth.

Say you live in Summerhill and are expecting the delivery of your dinner or an important package. Will you have to get dressed and go across the street to get your delivery because the driver couldn't park in front of your house? This could be a safety issue.

Those entities aren't special. There's no reason their drivers couldn't park elsewhere and walk the delivery to the recipient's front door. I've been able to get UPS and Fedex trucks parking tickets in the past when they were too lazy to park where they should. Those companies pay the tickets as a cost of doing business.

I wonder why they didn't expand the streetcar instead of introduding a new mode of transit?
I delivery drive, there are some streets you just can't stop on safely (Northside)— maybe this will be one of those, too.

I think we should just put plows on the front of buses. If you park in a bus lane - good luck.

Yeah, I can't stand them too. Hell, I stand them less. You can at least be ok with someone who is in a rush trying to drop or pick someone/thing off quickly and making bad choices. If you drive for any of the above companies that is your job and you should know better. The fact so many of them just ignore basic traffic laws is mind blowing.
