Every single one of those cars should be impounded with a $2,000+ fine. They can go pound sand.

It might help with these bus lanes if they added some additional short term parking or an idling zone in front of stores and restaurants.

If they put these cameras in with things as they are, there could be a lot of people getting scooped up who are just running short-term errands.
These people absolutely deserve tickets. Why are they so special?

Well, perhaps they are just trying to save their friend or loved one a few steps. It could be that the person who needs to run into the store is their elderly mom. If the driver is forced to go park, then when the senior finishes shopping they are going to have just stand there until their ride happens to notice them and can drive back to the front of the store.

That's why I'm saying it might be helpful to have an idling/waiting zone in front of businesses.

Meanwhile doing that actively inconveniences hundreds or thousands of other people. God forbid someone has to walk a block.

This is the south, not New York...

True. A lot of folks down here prefer to be dropped off/picked up at the door. If parking is involved, many also prefer to park near the door.

Probably not a coincidence that a lot of Southern states have higher than average obesity rates.

I have yet to hear any kind of convincing argument that they shouldn't do this. Hopefully the general assembly gets it together and passes the legislation this time around. The state has pushed Marta and others to pursue BRT to save money, but that doesn't work if you can't enforce the lanes.

Then do that instead of trying to justify blocking BRT lanes because a driver didn't want to be inconvenienced.

That is irrelevant.

The BRT push is all MARTA, state has little to do with it.

Nonsense. The state is definitely behind the push, and if you put Marta out of the picture, explain CobbLinc, Gwinnett Transit, Express Lane BRT. Its a state level, region-wide push necessitated by lack of funding for anything beyond BRT.
