One last jab, Married or Single - Chicago.
Chicago is much more family friendly and focused than here.

It's obvious I am NOT an Atlanta fan.

Good Luck in your endeavors and I wish you well.

Go Chicago!!!!
I disagree, with all the crime in Chicago I would not feel safe there

Moving to Chicago would be a great option for you especially if you want more experience in your field. Chicago has had corruption in the police department for years. Recently one family received over million dollars in settlement due to a wrongful death lawsuit against the CPD. The CPD chief Jody Weis has recently been under fire for the increase in violence especially after the shootings at the Taste of Chicago, which I decided not to attend this year. Chicago has a long history of organized criminal activity from Al Capone to Larry Hoover. Alot of people no longer talk about the violence in Chicago because it simply has become apart of everyday life. You'll learn alot in Chicago and probably make a decent living while at it. If your really looking to advance in criminal justice I would start out in Chicago, I dont see anywhere else you would learn more, then relocate somewhere else to raise your family. We definitely need more people in position to help change things in tha Chi....

As someone with an MSW and fifteen years of experience working with adolescents I'd definitely say Chicago. I drool looking through the social service jobs in that area, while I've been unsuccessful at finding anything even remotely comparable in Atlanta. Apparently, Atlanta doesn't do social services and recently closed at least one juvenile facility. If you need a job in social services the south just isn't a good place to be.

I believe that with all the pros/cons versus Atlanta or Chicago (or whatever) ...MLogan0301 has already stated that her main goal is to "further her career in the Judicial world utilizing her education in Forensic Science" and more.

The ONLY way this person can do this is to place herself in an environment that will give her the opportunity to utilize and thus advance her "repetoire" of skills and knowledge.

I'm wishing her the best in her interview in Chicago ... if perhaps in a year or so she doesn't find that the environment isn't completely conducive to her needs and goals ... she will make that change.

In closing and after trying to be 'candid' ... let's all offer her a very enthusiastic endorsement ... in Chicago or wherever!

You might have to drive back home in the winter, it will be hard to get back home in Chicago because of the heavy snow and the airport will cancel a lot of those flights

You dont have to worry about that in Atlanta if u need to drive/fly back home

I know you have all the best intentions .. but you're got a full force garden hose of ATL "kool-aid" going into everyone's mouth. Much too much of a hard "sell". We're ignoring the OP original request(s) also.

Alot of bars in Chicago have 4am licenses during the week. And 5am on Staurday nights. Does somebody really need to drink later than 5am? If so, move to Vegas. Most those shootings happen in the black ghettos of the south and west side. If you're black with a decent job, you wont live there. The northside of Chicago is very nice.
