Those living in West Cobb who find it a pain to get to I-75 will soon have relief. The new "Windy-Mac" connector road that will connect Macland Road to Windy Hill has been approved. Completion scheduled for 2011.

About how long will it take to get to I-75 from Macland and Powder Springs traveling this new route? Any idea?

Wow, didn't realize it would be limited access and no lights or intersections. That's a good idea.

ATLGreg, see that you will lose some of your trailer park neighbors there at Lamplighter Cove.

To my knowledge, there are only two mobile home parks left in West Cobb. One is in Powder Springs (and developers are trying to buy it for a shopping center project) and the one you mention which I don't even remember exactly where it's at. You need to go to Paulding now if you want trailers - sorry. LOL

Long-term, West Cobb really needs I-20 improved and MARTA extended to use Thornton Rd as an access point en-route to downtown.

Wasn't the East/West Connector supposed to be the same thing once upon a time? It seems like stop light heaven now, at least in places. The Covered Bridge District is still free of them, though.

Good luck with that! The 'relief' will last until you hit the golf courses and the traffic is STILL backed up from 41 and then again between 41 and 75. I had to time my trips to Nalley Volvo around traffic and I was coming from Sandy Springs! Maybe they can double-deck Windy Hill or blow up I20 @ 285 and start all over! Can't say we miss ATL traffic out here in Austin!

Lamplighter Cove is on the east side of Powder Springs Road right were Macland currently dead ends. For a trailer park, it seemed a cut above but still.....

There was a large trailer park at Barrett Parkway and 41 right in the midst of all the big box sprawl, I guess it is still there. Was always surprised it didn't get bought out for another row of big boxes.
