Looking at houses in both. Can anyone comment on differences, benefits of one vs. the other, overall value or which would be a better neighborhood to buy a home and remodel? As always to my Dunwoody Peeps especially, thanks!! We're getting closer!

While not quite a Dunwoody peep -- I think either is fine. Both have Swim Tennis, both are good locations. The Mill Glen neighborhood has suffered through a fair amount of consternation about the RIOD issue. Do you plan to renovate an existing house or tear one down? If tearing down, The Branches for sure.

I think the diversity of housing is more extreme in Mill Glen.

Both neighborhoods could be affected by any shift in property values should there be a negative impact of the new 4th/5th grade academy. If the academy is ever changed to a k-5, in all likely hood the Branches (presuming you are purchasing on the DeKalb side) will go to the new school.

As a former Dunwoody resident, I don't think you can go wrong with either. I lived in The Branches and really loved everything about it.

I think that either is pretty good. There has definitely been some angst and consternation in Mill Glen re: the RIOD issue, but I haven't heard much about that recently. There are some real "fixer-uppers" in both neighborhoods, esp. in Mill Glen. There are some fairly new, large McMansions next to older ranch-style homes. I personally would prefer the Branches because the houses appear more uniform, but I think either is fine. I believe both are zoned for Austin, but don't quote me on that. FYI: Mill Glen is a "cut-through" neighborhood for those wanting to avoid the horrid intersection at Spalding and Roberts. There's a lot of non-resident traffic coming through, esp. at rush hours. I would be hesitant to let my kids play outside there if you live on one of the main roads. Just my $.02.
