Default Atlanta vs Miami

I'm thinking of relaocating to Atl from Miami (Miami Beach). Just visited last week and love the area. I ws in East Cobb and visited Sandy Springs, Buckhead, Midtown among others.
I was wondering has anyone from Miami relocated there? How is the job market? Its horrible here, maybe slightly better there? I am a Controller with years of experience. I am 53 with my wife, no kids.

Also, how does the COL compare? We want to rent a 2 bd townhouse?
help!

I didn't notice a huge difference in the cost of living between Atlanta and Miami when I moved down there back in 2001. One thing I did come across was cheaper grocery prices in Miami than Atlanta - especially the produce.

I like Atlanta's beaches better than Miami's.

make the move, any move away from Miami is a good one imo, my family just decided to move up to Jax, I live here in Atl now and could not be happier. The only downfalls are the state income tax, no beaches/water, and much colder winters that are still bearable. As far as COL, there is no place in Atl that even comes close to being as expensive as Miami Beach, there is just no comparison. You will be living very comfortably here
