Hi, my name is Gabrielle, I am planning to transfer to GSU next August, but I do not know Atlanta, I do not know anybody in Atlanta, and I need to find a place that is not very expensive, do you have any tips how to look for a safe area, it is ok if I have to take public transportation.. ohh also is the public transportation safe ( specially at night for a girl alone?)
I would be very thankful for any of your help! I am very exited to live in Atlanta =]
ciao !!

I would probably look for an apartment within walking distance of Candler Park Station or Decatur Station. Candler Park is three stops away from the GSU station and Decatur station is five stops away from GSU.

City Plaza
Muse's
The Walton House
Fairlie Poplar Lofts
Freeman Ford Lofts
University Place at Underground

All walking distance from GSU.

There are plenty more that are nearby. Mattress Factory Lofts and Capitol Gateway to name a few. Also there is a ton of new housing coming up just east of downtown that may be often when you come around.

Here is a good resource:

Let me know if you need anything else.
