I was surprised to see that gas is significantly cheaper in Atlanta than in Charlotte. Georgia's tax per gallon is about 7 cents per gallon and NC's is 31 cents.

I was wondering if those who have lived in both cities can state whether home utilities (i.e., gas and electric) costs the same or less in Atlanta.

Thanks

I've lived in both states. What's amazing to me is that gas down here used to be much cheaper than in NC. It's really increased relative to other markets in the last few years. Utilities seem to be about the same, maybe a little less here.

I believe, the law was changed here a couple years ago. Now, every 6 months, the gas tax is based on the price per gallon so in 6 month, if gas is higher, so is the tax...
