Hello All,
We may have to move again from our small fair city to be closer to an International Airport. We lived in Atlanta around 7 yrs ago up in Alpharetta, and do not wish to move back up there as traffic was a nightmare then, so can't imagine what it is like now. So we are investigating Summergrove or White Oaks in Newnan area. My husband would like to be in a golf course community, me - tennis with walking trails for 'the boys' (our dogs). We are both active young over 50 yr olds with no children - fur kids only. Would Summergrove or White Oaks be a place where there is a mix of families as well as folks like us i.e. empty nesters over 50 yr olds. We love children and love being in a community that has a mix of families and empty nesters, but really don't want to live where the community is mainly only families. I am unsure of any other golf communities that would suit our needs, but if anyone knows of any others, where access to the airport is tops 1 hr drive, I'd love to hear about them.
Oh I also have a question that I forgot to ask - i read a post that in Peachtree City you can hear tornado sirens in the spring quite frequently - is this true? Would this also apply to the Summergrove and White Oaks area?
Thanks for any input.

Default Newnan

I live in Newnan and don't believe I've ever heard a tornado siren. Summergrove, White Oak, Lake Redwine, Arbor Springs, all great neighborhoods. Arbor Springs has a golf course, lakes, nature trails and bigger lots than the others. Lake Redwine has beautiful lake lots, good walking. Most of Newnan is an easy commute to Airport with close access to I-85. Try Trulia.com Point2homes.com Realtor.com. Search by city, zip or subdivision.

The tornado sirens are rarely heard if at all. Tornados are more common further south of Peachtree City in places like Hampton.
I lived in Summergrove for two years and we loved the golfing and swimming. It is a nice community. It takes about 30 minutes to get to the airport. I do not know of any walking trails. Perhaps Peachtree City would be the place for those. I have moved back to New Orleans but if I return to Ga it would be Peachtree City or Tyrone.

The golf cart paths are excellent for walking , biking, or just exploring with a golf cart any time of the year.

The tornado sirens only go off here when there is a tornado watch or warning in Fayette County ( with exception of the occassional test). In some areas of Peachtree City, my friends say they cannot hear them at all. Where I am,on the north side of town we hear them loud and clear.
