I was downtown the other day walking around after I was laid off the day before.I was wandering what can be done with this place. Its just vacant. Can GSU use it?Or maybe the Civil Right Museum should go there?Wpuld it be better just to tear it down? What do you guys think?
Lots of people have tossed the idea around of turning it into a State History museum given its proximity to the capitol and that it's already built out as a museum.
I think it's a nice building, and could be used for something like a Museum or something. GSU using it too? But for what? A new school of Architecture or Arts building? Not bad ideas. Maybe Coca Cola should donate it...(as it has done in the past)
In fact the state did purchase the building with the intention of creating a state history museum. There was even money in the budget for it last year but was axed by Perdue due to declining state revenue. I've seen an artists rendering of what the museum would look like somewhere.

I believe the State of Georgia had plans to buy the building to house some kind of state museum.
It was reported by the AJC like a month ago.
I believe a history museum that would most likely contain a lot of artifacts that have the Rebel flag/old state flag emblem on them might not be best placed next to a tourist attraction that has a very large black clientele.

I wonder if the could just use the current building as a museum.(minus the confederate flag.lol)?I guess if the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in Macon ever shuts down,it could move to Atlanta(Robb Pitts) suggestion, then maybe that would be a good location.Pitts wants Georgia Music Hall of Fame in Atlanta - Atlanta Business Chronicle:
Real sad if it leaves Macon though.
they could easily put a cool looking glass around the 2 exposed sides. It wouldn't be a very functional building but it could certainly house something or artistic significance.
However I'm sure greedy Coke would hate to see it turn into anything good... wouldn't that look bad?
