Anyone view Google Maps for Atlanta?

Atlanta looks particularly beautiful...I guess they timed it just right with the Fall foilage on the ground.

How is it during the rest of the year? ALways have that kind of beauty to it?

I always associated Atlanta with massive massive sprawl, which I associate with endless driving, concrete, strip malls, and other eye sores.

BUT...viewing the google maps, the trees everywhere makes things look quite pleasant, and the complete opposite of what I'd think.

Me neither. It's all green, not in fall colors.

Atlanta has the most trees per acre - more than any other U.S. city.

This is exactly why Atlantans get so defensive about our city. Yeah, we have that stuff, but so does every other city in the country. What we have over every city though is that the city is in the forest. And not just an urban area in one section, and a forest in another. The whole city is literally in a forest.

I'd like to see what you are talking about on Google Maps. On the ground now the whole city is in shades of orange, purple, red, and brown.

I hope this works, as I have never attempted to post a photo here before.

I took these yesterday in my neighborhood. These show a little bit of Fall color. I would guess we are 2-3 weeks away from peak color in Atlanta, but the rains today seem to be knocking all the leaves off the trees before they can really show their magic.

Anyway, enjoy.

NihonKitty - The third pic is dedicated to you - I know how much you love Fall color, and I also know you don't get too much in Orlando!

I hope google maps street view updates Atlanta soon, I was playing around with it the other day and saw that New York(manhattan) was updated with sharper images, parts of LA and Dallas as well, I'm sure others are updated but that's all I checked, looks as recent as sept./oct. of last year b/c I saw McCain/Palin signs in some yards.

How kind!

Thanks so much - but the pics could be a little sharper, in my opinion.
