No wonder city government has such a terrible reputation. They hire these types of people:

Here is the story about it:

This is sad. Maybe we need to send emails to our city council to put some pressure on the city to stop this.

From the story about it:

John Michalik said he came across a crew Department of Public Works stopped on a Southeast Atlanta corner, not hard at work, but reading a tabloid. He said he started to videotape them, when Thornton flew into a rage and threatened to beat Michalik.

Worker: "You ain't got nothing better to do than take pictures of us?"

Michalik: "Look who's talking, buddy."

Thornton showed Michalik what he had to do by flashing a tabloid at the camera and explaining that he was, "Reading about y'alls crazy a-- white folks," according to the camera's videotape.

Michalik told the crew members they were parked in the middle of the street, and Thornton responded with a racial slur. "We ain't even parked in the middle of the street, we're parked on the sidewalk, crazy a-- c-------," he said.

I mean seriously are these the type of people that the city hires? No wonder no one takes city government seriously.

And thank God they do it. If it wasn't for the media, this type of crap would be more widespread than any of us can imagine.

Are you condoning the behavior of this so-called City worker?

Oh, he said he was sorry. That makes it better. Yeah right. (our society is in desperate need of a sarcasm font)

Sorry he got reported. Sorry he got caught.

I think its great the guy on the bike took it upon himself to videotape them sitting around, its proof of what he saw versus him calling in to the city to complain and then it just gets filed away in some cabinet. Another reason Im glad I dont live in or pay taxes in City Of Atlanta!!
