I was curious if there happen to be any Civil engineering professionals on the Atlanta forum that may be able to provide me some insight.

I am highly considering going back to school to get a bachelors degree in Civil Engineering and am considering Southern Poly. The upside is that I would still be able to work full time and take night classes. The downside is that this degree is a CET degree and not a full blow engineering degree. Ideally, I'd like to go to Tech instead since it holds more value but the reality is that I'm not sure I could go back full time and give up my job (I have a mortgage to pay). Tech also doesn't really offer the flexibility of achieving this degree through night courses.

So for any CE professionals out there, what do you think of SPSU's CET program? Would I be better off saving more money or taking a loan for the degree at Tech instead?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

One thing to consider is that a tech degree will require a longer waiting period (additional years of work experience) before you are eligible to take the PE exam and perhaps even make it more difficult to obtain licensure in other states by comity. Where you go is less important IMO than getting an actual BS in CE from an ABET approved school.
