I have the opportunity to relocate, I have 32 cities to choose from and I have narrowed my options down to the following which interest me:

New Orleans

Houston

Charlotte

Atlanta

LA

Bay Area

I am soo confused. I am a 27 year old single African American Female currently residing in Cleveland, OH and I am a Special Education Teacher. I am looking for a city that is filled with entertainment (clubs/bars, music, comedy, plays, sports, arts) and culture. Cost of living and good weather is also important to me.

If you can provide any information or comparison on these cities It would be a great help.

I've lived in both Atlanta and the Bay Area. They are both great. Both can fit the bill as far as club/bars, music, comedy, plays, sports (go 49ers!) and culture. The weather is great in both.

The Bay Area provides a better variety of landscapes that are within driving distance. Very close to Napa/Sonoma, Monterey/Camel, and the Sierra Mountains. And of course the ocean and beaches!

If you have any specific questions please let me know. I was born and raised in the Bay Area and have been living in Atlanta for the last four years.

Thank you Archan for your reply. I have never visted the Bay Area but everyone I know that has fell in love. What concerns me about the bay area is cost of living, do you think I could find a nice 2bd apt in a nice area for around $900/mo ?

Where in the Bay Area are you going to be working? That will be pretty tough to find unless you live on the outer Bay Area.

Definately, Atlanta has a lower cost of living.

Not Houston. It's an ugly city and one that probably won't be overly friendly to you. We lived elsewhere in TX while going to school and didn't even like driving through Houston on the way home. Austin may be more interesting if you like TX but I think you are doing well do narrow your choices to Atlanta and the Bay Area.

Good luck!
