Lakeside High School has this practice. I don't think it is common practice and I am not sure it should be. But I don't think a kid who wants to put in the extra effort to take an AP course should be discouraged which is what happens at lots of schools.

AP courses, if taught properly, should be like a college course. My children have found them to often be painful to survive, but they generally have enjoyed them.

i live in east cobb (for 23 years), right by walton. when people ask where i'm from, i say roswell because i live closer to the roswell boarder than 'downtown' marietta. i equate marietta more to west cobb. but then again, saying i live in roswell may be confusing because roswell is pretty big and is in fulton. so i just say i live across the street from walton.
